There is no better service to the society than giving life to somebody, one doesn’t even know. That blood donation can give life to someone needy.
A blood donation camp was organized by IMA in Chandigarh on the occasion of world doctor’s day on July 2, 2017 where doctors and staff members came forward to support the noble drive. The doctors guided the volunteers as well as the donors and cleared their doubts regarding the myths on blood donation. The camp witnessed an overwhelming with many donors contributing to the cause. Besides a souvenir each donor received a certificate of appreciation and donor certificate IMA.
In words of Dr. Neeraj,” Blood donation is one of the most significant contributions that a person can make towards the society. It is not harmful for an adult person to donate blood. The body of the donor can regenerate the blood within few days. It poses no threat to the metabolism of the body”.
The initiative kindled a spirit of social responsibility amongst the doctor’s community which contributed whole heartedly towards making it a huge success. “Blood Donation exemplifies the true spirit of sacrifice and that is why I participated in this campaign”, said Mr. Rajesh Ghai.
Mr. Gautam Das, another Chaitanya’s volunteer said, “Programs of similar kind should be organized in future where we are able to do things that make us feel good and responsible.This experience has helped me to see the highest law which is the love of man to man with my own eyes and to realize the real secret for being rich: compassion towards humanity!”
