Treatment of Concussion

In case of minor concussion, the child will be able to recover in a few days. The procedure followed in the treatment is also quite simple. The steps that may follow are:

  • The doctor will ask for a few tests to check how the brain is functioning. They usually are MRI or CT scans.
  • If the brain has moved or has shaken inside the skull, the condition will heal by itself in a few weeks.
  • If it is severe, surgery may be necessary.

However, in most cases, rest with limited physical activity is recommended for faster recovery.
